Jesse's
learning curve is amazing. Achievements include: house training nearly
perfect; come; sit; heel on leash; wait before entering or leaving the
house; fetch (a work in progress); don't nibble on hands or nip at
clothes (needs a bit more work); crate trained; stays alone in room or
car without separation anxiety; loves car travel; and likes or at least
tolerates brushing an grooming.
He
is still slightly shy around other dogs after one bad experience with
an aggressive dog here, but the local dog park in Tivon is great in
bringing him back to balance. He is a bit too enthusiastic around
children (typical puppy behavior), and we are trying to get him to
restrain himself to not jump and kiss when inappropriate. One of his
favorite activities is to climb up the ramp to the local sliding board
and to slide down head first (I'll try to send a video of this.)
We are working on the following: Lie
down; stay; search and find, and use the treadmill. A future challenge
is for Jesse to learn calculus - a math level that I never could master!
Jesse is a blessing for us, and I hope and trust that the feeling is reciprocal!
